Rough Cut & Custom Sawn Lumber
We offer both rough cut and custom sawn hardwood lumber, milled from responsibly harvested local logs and available year-round from our warehouse in Deansboro, NY. Whether you're building a barn, restoring a cabin, or sourcing wood for furniture or flooring, we have the materials and equipment to cut exactly what you need.
What We Offer
Rough Cut Lumber – Unsurfaced boards with saw marks and full-dimension sizing. Ideal for barns, fences, sheds, trailers, framing, and other outdoor or structural uses.
Custom Sawn Lumber – Boards milled to your specifications — species, dimensions, and quantity. Perfect for cabinetry, stair treads, mantels, timber frames, and custom woodworking.
Species on Hand – Oak, cherry, ash, hickory, locust, maple, beech, and more, depending on log flow and season.
Sawn In-House & Locally – We handle most sawing in-house with our bandsaw mill, and partner with a trusted local sawmill for larger logs and bulk orders.
Rough Cut vs. Custom Sawn — What’s the Difference?
We offer both options depending on your needs:
Rough Cut Lumber is cut to standard sizes (like 1x8, 2x6, etc.), but left unsurfaced — still showing saw marks and slightly oversized. It's great for exterior use or applications where finish isn’t a concern.
Custom Sawn Lumber is tailored to your project. Need thicker boards? Extra-wide planks? Matching species for restoration work? We cut to order and handle odd sizes others can’t.
We’re happy to help you decide what’s best for your job.
